I've considered many different choice for a career since i was young until now.I always wanted to be a helicopter pilot because i felt like it would be an amazing job. Now I've changed my mind. Last year my dad opened up his own HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning) company called Muskoka HeatWorks. Now that's what I've chosen to go to school for. Im going to do a two year apprenticeship with him. In order to do a two year apprenticeship it can take between 6 months-Two years to complete. With an apprenticeship you get experience in your field of work while at the same time going to school every couple of weeks or few months for a while to work on getting your Heating and Air Conditioning Technician Certificate. The certificate allows you too work and install Heating and Air conditioning units legally and on your own. The average pay for a starting HVAC technician is anywhere from $45,000-$50,000 a year. Experienced HVAC technicians make upwards of $89,000 plus dollars a year. The reason i have chosen this as a career choice is because i have many family members who do it and love doing it and also there is a shortage of people who want to go into the trades anymore making the demand for them higher and higher making the business even better and keeping you busy. I start my apprenticeship with my fathers company next year and i hope all goes well and maybe one day to potentially have my own business or even possibly take over my fathers in the near future.
